Vehicle Extrication

The Vehicle Extrication programs are designed to provide Fire/Rescue personnel with the knowledge to perform extrication from a vehicle entrapment in a safe and expedient manner.

Tran-Care Rescue Ltd. provides five programs for Vehicle Extrication.

  • Vehicle Extrication Awareness (Extrication using hand tools) 8 hours

  • Vehicle Extrication Level I Operations (Basic Motor Vehicles) 20 hours

  • Vehicle Extrication Level II Advanced (Bus, Trucks) 20 hours

  • New Vehicle Technology (Extrication Safety) 8 hours

  • Lifting/Stabilization (use of airbags and struts) 8 hours

The Vehicle Extrication Programs are designed for Fire/Rescue Services, EMT's Paramedics, and First Responders who would be responding to a motor vehicle accident and become involved in the extrication.

Course Specifics: The Vehicle Extrication programs over Command Approach to Extrication, Scene safety, Modern vehicle construction and safety, Use of hand tools for rescue, Use of heavy rescue tools, Victum packaging and removal, Specific techniques including door displacement and removal, Roof displacement and removal, Dash displacement, Vehicle lifting, Pedal displacement and New vehicle technology extrication safety.


Course Includes: Vehicle Extrication manual/Student workbook, Tran-care Rescue Ltd. Certificate of Achievement upon mastering all components of the program.

Enrollment Requirements: First Aid/CPR. Knowledge of equipment use is an asset.
